GARIMA RAI is working on Indian Nepali writings from the Darjeeling Hills (1950-80s) for her doctoral studies in English from the University of Delhi. She is interested in looking beyond the question of migration and identity into subjectivity that speaks for itself across fiction, theatrical performance, songs, and creation in the Nepali language that has come to flourish outside of Nepal. She has translated Wuthering Heights into Nepali, brought out by the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi in 2008.
